Introducing the Climate Risk Certificate Program

Program Registration

The Climate Risk Certificate is put on hold in 2026 due to changes in purchase processing systems at the SOA. No additional course or bundle purchases are possible at this time. If you are currently participating in the program and would like to add a final assessment, you may register for it below. No other registrations are available.

The first two courses of this certificate program serve as an introduction to all courses, covering the fundamentals of climate change. They are recommended for anyone who wants to learn more about this subject.

The full Climate Risk Certificate Program is recommended for actuaries and others who want practical instruction and training about climate risk. To receive the Climate Risk Certificate, please:

1. Complete five required courses (noted in the table below with asterisks)
2. Complete one specialty course from Course 5a-5e, and
3. Pass the assessment (10-15 hours of work completed within a 96-hour window).

This is the final opportunity to take the assessment for participants currently in the program. No additional assessments will be offered in 2026 and beyond.

The Climate Risk Certificate Program is one of the Eligible Programs under the Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme and qualifies for up to HKD 10,000 reimbursement for Hong Kong residents.
